Refund policy

Returns & Exchanges

We do not offer refunds on any purchases.  While we aim to provide you with as much flexibility as possible when you shop with us, our small business is not able to cover the cost of fees associated with a refund.

Instead, most of our ready-to-ship items are eligible for an exchange in the form of a new garment or a store credit balance. If you receive a ready-to-ship item that does not work for you, please contact us at seteraclothingco@gmail.com within 5 days of the delivery date to initiate an exchange. The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. The item that you are exchanging must be in the same condition that you received it: new, unworn, and unwashed.  Once we have received your original item and confirm that it is in new condition, you may exchange it with any item in our shop.  

If the new item is more expensive than the original, the customer must cover the difference in price. If the new item is less expensive than the original, the customer will receive a store credit balance in the amount of the difference in price. If you do not wish to exchange at that time, you will receive a store credit balance in the amount of the returned item, which you can use at anytime. If the customer paid for shipping (U.S. orders under $55, international orders, etc.), you will not be reimbursed for the cost of shipping. If the customer used a discount code, you will only receive credit for the amount that you paid, not the full amount of the item.

Exchanges will not be accepted if you do not contact us before sending the item back.  If an item is returned to us damaged, or not in original condition, an exchange will not be offered.  The buyer can choose if they would like to pay to have it shipped back to them, or if they would like us to keep the item.

Please double check all selections on made-to-order items! We are unable to offer returns or exchanges if you did not select your intended size, color, style, etc.

Exceptions / non-exchangeable items
The following items are not eligible for exchange:

  • Made-to-Order
  • Intimate items (such as underwear, menstrual products, etc)
  • Earrings
  • Sale items (including Prototypes)

Damages and issues
Please examine your order upon receiving it and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. While we do inspect each item throughly before shipping, Setera is a one woman shop & we understand that mistakes do happen. We will work with you to make sure that the issue is resolved.

In addition to my return/exchange policy, there are many buy/sell/trade groups on Facebook specific to organic clothing, in which you can pass along both new and used items. With a major focus on sustainability, I greatly encourage customers to go this route if they are not eligible for an exchange through my store.  It is a great opportunity for you to receive some reimbursement for your purchase, while also giving the garments a new life and keeping them out of landfills.
